INSPIRED BY THEIR love for the chamber music repertoire, pianist Klara Würtz, violinist Joan Berkhemer, and cellist Nadia David, joined their music abilities and formed the Klavier Trio Amsterdam in 1990. The Dutch trio regularly performs in the United States, and is now in Washington, D.C. for several performances, among them the Corcoran Gallery of Art on Sunday afternoon, and The French Embassy on Monday evening.

THE KLAVIER TRIO AMSTERDAM held a beautiful concert on Thursday night at a private historic home in Georgetown, previously owned by Pamela Harriman, the wife of Averell Harriman and the former US ambassador to France during the Clinton administration. The evening's program consisted of works by Bach, Dvorak, Ravel and Brahms. Afterwards the guests enjoyed a wonderful buffet.

THE KLAVIER Trio Amsterdam, which started with a concert in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, has received international critical acclaim, and won top honors at the Colmar Chamber Music Competition. In 1992 they visited Israel, and performed in most important cities and halls in the country. They were special guests at the Jaffa Chamber Music Festival and made recordings for the YMCA. The following year the trio performed during a festival in Rome, and in 1994 they successfully toured Germany. Ever since then they have been invited to play there every year. They have also been invited to perform at Dutch Embassies worldwide, including Washington, D.C. and London, and they have participated at the "Festung Konzerten" in Salzburg and the Chamber Music Festival in Dinant, France. They have also toured Greece and Colombia.

ITS DEBUT ALBUM of two Mendelsohn piano trios was hailed as "the best of the year 2000" in the International Record Review. Since 2005 the trio regularly returns to the Corcoran Chamber music series in Washington, D.C. Last May they made their debut in Carnegie Weill Recital Hall in New York, and on May 7, 2008, they played at the Romanian Embassy in Washington, D.C. for Europe day.
