ON WEDNESDAY evening, June 10, Susan Calloway Fine Arts in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. celebrated the opening of an exhibition of works by Janet Fry Rogers "Variations of Spring." The presentation includes innovative white gold and silver leafed panels with abstract images of plants, restrained contour line drawings of flowers, and subtle watercolor paintings where washes and glazes reflect the beauty of spring.

JANET FRY ROGERS studied studio art at Colorado College, art theory at the Barnes Foundation in Merion, Penn., and drawing and design at the Royal Queensland Art Society in Australia. Her interest in using new materials led her recently to the noted furniture and lighting design firm, Niermann Weeks, where she trained in gold and silver leafing techniques.

AMONG THE MANY guests who came to the art opening were former Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife Lynne Cheney, interior designer Frank Randolph, architect Christian Zapatka, and French Cultural Attaché Roland Celette.
