Artist Nina Muys, to the right, and friend Sonia Kammeyer
NINA MUYS, an Austrian printmaker, who grew up in Austria, Germany and Brazil, and immigrated to the United States in 1961. Here she developed in interest in art and attended the Corcoran School of Art, the University of Maryland and the Academy of Fine Art in Rome. She has deep and spiritual connection to nature - flowers have become a central subject in her works of art.

HER PAINTINGS are reminiscent of Albrecht Dürer's works, and her fascination with the power and the complexities of nature shines through all of them. Nina Muys is a founding member of The Washington Printmakers' Gallery, and her work is part of the collections of the Library of Congress, the White House and the National Museum of Women in the Arts.
