Artist Martha Jackson Jarvis says, "My works on paper invite viewers into inner space, where energy, form and color guide our journey. Enigmatic fragments construct polyrhythmic narrative that are discovered and revealed as dynamic artifacts of our lives."
The closing reception of the Black History Month Exhibition - a diverse exhibit of African American artists -- at Lorton Workhouse Arts Center in Virginia was held on Sunday, February 21. The exhibition, which opened February 3, will go on through February 27. The participating artists are Margo Humphrey, Martha Jackson Jarvis, Michael B. Platt, Preston Sampson, Stanley Squirewell and Therman Statom.
