'Management and Prevention of Obesity' Seminar at House of Sweden

THE EMBASSY of Sweden, Mando Group AB of Stockholm and Lenox Hill Hospital in New York invite you to a seminar and discussion on the "Management and Prevention of Obesity" on Tuesday, April 27, from 12:45 - 3 p.m. at the House of Sweden, 2900 K Street, N.W. in Washington.
TWO-THIRDS OF of the adults and one-third of the children in the United States are overweight or obese. For the first time in modern history, the health of the American population may decline if the problem of obesity is not solved.
AS PART OF THE "Health & Care" Spring Program being presented at the House of Sweden in Washington, D.C., from March 25 through June 6, the seminar will assemble five American and Swedish experts to present solutions for this major public health problem.
Speakers will include:
• Cecilia Bergh, Ph.D., CEO of Mando Group AB and a founder of Mandometer and Mandolean Clinics in Stockholm, Sweden, Australia, San Diego and New York
• Per Södersten, Ph.D., Professor of Behavioral Neuroendocrinology at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm and a founder of Mandometer and Mandolean Clinics
• Susanna Steinbaum, D.O., Director of Women and Heart Disease at the Heart and Vascular Institute at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York
• Rony Y. Shimony, M.D., Director of the Center for Cardiovascular Disease at the Lenox Hill Heart and Vascular Institute at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York
• Michael Leon, Ph.D., Professor of Neurology and Behavior and Associate Dean of Biological Sciences at the University of California, Irvine
LUNCH WILL BE served at 12:45 p.m. followed by discussions of "Obesity and Heart Disease" at 1:30 p.m., "We are Designed to Manage Starvation" at 1:45 p.m., "There are Two Types of Eaters," at 2 p.m., "Translating Body Weight Research Into a Clinical Practice" at 2:15 p.m., and a Panel Discussion with a question and answer session at 2:30 p.m. The seminar will conclude at 3 p.m.
