THE 4TH ANNUAL COCINA de Coprodeli - "An Exploration of Peruvian Gastronomy and Culture" - was held on Thursday evening, April 1, at the Council of Foreign Relations offices on F Street, Northwest, in Washington, D.C. The event, which was sponsored by the Embassy of Peru and Coprodeli USA, included Latin American dishes prepared by local chefs from restaurants Mio, Las Canteras, Yorktown Bistro, Redwood and the Embassy of Peru. Restaurants Café Atlantico, Funxion and Mio also made pisco sours, the Peruvian national cocktail. The pisco was provided by Macchu Pisco and wine by Brassfield Estate Winery. Vibrant music and dance, including a performance by Mamauca with its unique style of African-Peruvian dance, were also included in the successful evening's celebration.

Padre Miguel Ranera is a 2010 semi-finalist for the Schwab Foundation's Social Entrepreneur of the Year Award (www.schwabfoundation.org). A Coprodeli USA Independence Day Party will be held in Washington, D.C. on July 28.
