THE EXHIBITION "Pared-a-Pared: Un lienzo a lo largo del tiempo" - "Wall-to-Wall: A canvas over time" -- by artist Washington-based artist Miki Fernández (www.mikifernandez.com) opened on Monday evening, January 31, 2011, at the Embassy of Peru in Washington, D.C.

"PARED-A-PARED" is an art work focused on colors, textures and images of the walls of the cities that the artist has visited throughout his life - Lima, Barranco and Lince in Peru, Oaxaca in Mexico, Bogota in Colombia and Washington, D.C. in search of images for this project. After years of exposure to the elements, these walls become three-dimensional canvases.

MR. Fernández, who was born in Talara in Peru in 1954, studied architecture at the Ricardo Palma University in Lima. He moved to the United States in 1977 to continue his studies in Washington, D.C. In 1991 he founded a graphic design and art studio called ULTRAdesigns.

MIKI Fernández has showcased his art at many venues in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, and he is a well-known artist in this country as well as in Peru, Mexico, Colombia and Italy.
