“AN EVENING WITH ANTON CHEKHOV – A Deceptively Modern Evening of Classic Russian Theatre” was the title of two popular performances by The Picnic Theatre Company at the elegant Washington Club on Dupont Circle in Washington, D.C., Thursday evening, March 24, and Friday evening, March 25. Two of Chekhov’s riotous plays, The Proposal and The Jubilee were performed.

THE PLAYS WERE directed by Karim Chrobog, and the cast ensemble consisted of Michael M. Clements, Emad Dawood, Bruce MacPhail, Omar Popal, Oliver Robinson, Christina Sevilla and Ashley Taylor. It was produced by Genki Media LLC, and proceeds from the performances will benefit The Washington Theatre Legacy Project.

BEFORE THE PERFORMANCE, refreshments – beverages and cr?es — were served by Caf?Bonaparte. The Picnic Theatre Company is dedicated to site-specific party theatre in support of local arts and charitable organization. The after-party was at Napoleon Bistro & Lounge in Adams Morgan.
