Traditional Swedish Christmas Bazaar to be held at House of Sweden in Washington, D.C. Dec. 3

THE ANNUAL SWEDISH Christmas Bazaar is popular in Washington, D.C. Last year's bazaar drew a record number of people - around 3,200 - to the House of Sweden on the Potomac River in Georgetown
ON SATURDAY, Dec. 3, between 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., it is time for this year's bazaar, where visitors can come and learn more about Sweden and Swedish Christmas traditions, and enjoy delicious traditional Swedish holiday food.
Mrs. Eva Hafström, wife of Swedish Ambassador to the United States Jonas Hafström, will oversee the opening ceremony, and later in the afternoon there will be a traditional Santa Lucia Procession, with youth singing Swedish Christmas carols. Additionally, the bazaar offers a café with home-baked goods and Swedish sandwiches. Additionally, Swedish arts & crafts, crystal, textiles, artwork, books, decorations and much more will be offered for sale. There will also be a raffle with prizes.
THE BAZAAR, which is organized by SWEA Washington, D.C., and supported by the Embassy of Sweden, is free to the public. The House of Sweden is located at 2900 K Street, N.W., on the Georgetown waterfront in Washington, D.C. The closest Metro stop is Foggy Bottom.
SWEA Washington, D.C. is a local chapter of SWEA - Swedish Women's Educational Association International, which has 78 chapters in 35 countries with a total of over 7,000 members.
