New board members of the Washington chapter of SWEA (Swedish Women’s Educational Association)
ON THURSDAY, Feb. 9 the Washington chapter of SWEA (Swedish Women’s Educational Association) (www.swea.org) held its annual meeting at the Swedish Ambassador’s residence on Nebraska Ave. in Northwest Washington, D.C. Cecilia Browning was reelected as the chapter’s chair. After the agenda and deliberations were finalized, a buffet of Swedish delicacies was served in the residence dining room.

SWEA is a global non-profit organization – for Swedish and Swedish speaking women who are or have been living abroad — that was founded in 1979 in Los Angeles by Agneta Nilsson. Today SWEA has about 8,000 members worldwide in 77 local chapters in 35 countries in five continents.
