THE SWEDISH pop/soul/rock band Fibes, Oh Fibes! (www.fibesohfibes.com) – which was the winner of “Pop Album of the Year” at the 2010 Swedish Grammy Awards — performed at the House of Sweden in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday evening, Feb. 8.
THE GROUP from Gothenburg – which consists of Christian Olsson (vocals, songwriter), Mathias Nilson (guitar), Edvin Edvinson (bass), Martin Blomberg (drums) – was formed in 2001 and rose to fame in 2004.
IN 2004 they released their first album, “Still Fresh,” and two years later their second album, “Emotional,” and in the fall of 2009 the album “1987,” which won the “Pop Album of the Year.”
Fibes, Oh Fibes! get their inspiration from the soft rock genre of artists like Phil Collins, Lionel Richie and Toto.
