ON THURSDAY, Nov. 15, a special dedication ceremony celebrating the gift of a bronze bust of Russian author Leo Tolstoy by renowned Russian sculptor Gregory Pototsky was held at American University in Washington, D.C. The ceremony took place on the front steps of the Battelle Building on the University Quadrangle.

AMONG THE guests were Mr. Pototsky; Russian ambassador Sergey Kislayak; Susan E. Lehrman, Advisory Chair for American University’s Initiative for Russian Culture; Count Vladimir Tolstoy; Peter Starr, Dean of American University’s College of Arts and Sciences; and Anton Fedyashin, Executive Director of American University’s Initiative for Russian Culture. The ceremony was followed by a luncheon with the artist in the American University Museum.

MORE THAN 70 of Potatsky’s busts, sculptures and monuments can be found in important buildings around the world, including the U.S. Embassy in Moscow.
