HAPPENSTANCE THEATER (http://www.happenstancetheater.com) – with Sabrina Mandell and Mark Jaster -delighted the audience with their clowning and charming performance of “Pinot & Augustine” on Wednesday evening, Jan. 31 at the European Union Embassy in Washington, D.C. Happenstance Theater is committed to devising and producing original, visual poetic theater. Among their performance venues are the Kennedy Center “Look Both Ways: Street Arts Across America,” the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Capital Fringe Festival, Round House Theatre Silver Spring, Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center and QuestFest. They are known for thematic programs, which draw on the highly popular mimetic Commedia dell’Arte that dominated European stages from the 16th to early 18th centuries.

The event was part of the EU Embassy’s “Conversations in Culture” – presentations of diverse programs on culture from Europe.
